Formed in NYC and currently based in Seattle, Kat and Andi’s bittersweet and nostalgic music have captured listeners worldwide since their debut album in 2022. With over 30 million streams on streaming platforms and their constantly full-house shows across 30 cities worldwide, the band exemplifies what a hardworking DIY indie band can achieve when they pour their heart and soul into the music. The band just finished their 10-stop Asia tour, playing at well-known festivals (Clockenflap, Joyland main stage, Maho Rasop main stage) and multiple 500-cap venues, completing a successful run of shows to promote their latest album released in November 2024. There are also US and Europe tours coming up in 2025.
Bubble Tea and Cigarettes consistently puts out delicately composed dreamy and cinematic music, influenced by Japanese melodicism, European cinema music, Brazilian bossa nova, and a touch of American psychedelic. Most of their songs tell stories of post-adolescence romantics living dispirited but pleasure-seeking lives against the backdrop of a modern metropolis. The project is an emotional haven for Kat & Andi to unleash their dark fantasies and questions about the disheartening realities, in the form of love stories.
