Sure, it was disheartening to sit with the uncomfortable, but we’ve all walked away knowing that we can bank on one person to get us through – oneself. With his signature moving beats, sanguine lyrics, and earworm worthy hooks, SonReal takes us on an adventure starting from the beginning and always counting on oneself to get to the present and beyond.
“I’ve been through so many ups and downs since I started making music but one thing, I’ve always done is bank on myself,” shares SonReal. “This song is made to empower people and lift them up. It’s such a crazy time in the world right now and I wanted to make a song for you to feel good to. Bank On Me.”
Premiered today on Flaunt, “Bank On Me” is accompanied by an amusing visualizer, playing through a dramatization of that “end of the world” feeling we’ve all been trying to kick after the past year. Opening to newspaper headlines declaring the imminent end of times, the video cuts to the near future, depicting SonReal barely surviving in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
