Review: Papa Roach @ Rogers Arena – Nov 25 2025

by | Nov 25, 2025

On November 25, 2025, Papa Roach descended upon Rogers Arena for their “Rise of the Roach Tour,” delivering a performance that was far more than a simple rock concert; it was an exercise in collective catharsis and defiant energy. Frontman Jacoby Shaddix and the band proved their endurance, not just through their explosive sound, but through their profound commitment to vulnerability, connecting with a massive Vancouver crowd that shouted every lyric back.

The band wasted no time, launching into the emotional core of their later work with “Even If It Kills Me,” quickly followed by the relentless energy of “Blood Brothers” and the foundational hit “Dead Cell.” The opening sequence was a powerful demonstration of the band’s evolution, showing how their sound has matured while retaining the raw, aggressive edge that first put them on the map. Shaddix, a whirling dervish of energy, demanded and received the crowd’s full attention from the moment he stepped onto the massive stage.

The middle of the set showcased the band’s eclectic influences and playful creativity. After tearing through the nu-metal staples “…To Be Loved” and “Kill the Noise,” Papa Roach delivered an unexpected highlight: a cover of 2Pac’s “California Love.” This instrumental rendition, combined with the band introductions, was a nod to their rap-rock history and allowed the instrumentalists to shine, proving their musical dexterity goes beyond hard rock structures.

The concert then moved into its most poignant and powerful segment, addressing themes of mental health and suicide prevention, a cause the band champions. Following an aggressive sequence that included “Liar” and “Falling Apart,” a dedicated Suicide Prevention video played, creating a sobering and vital pause. This led into a deeply moving performance of “Leave a Light On (Talk Away the Dark),” followed by a moment of silent reflection. This deliberate inclusion turned the arena into a sanctuary, transforming the communal shout into a collective moment of understanding and support.

The energy surged back as the band delivered their biggest anthems, designed for mass participation. “Scars” and the fierce “BRAINDEAD” set the stage for the powerful message of “Help” and the uplifting defiance of “Born for Greatness.” The main set proved Papa Roach’s mastery of the arena rock dynamic, expertly blending punishing riffs with massive, melodic hooks that kept the audience jumping, singing, and fully engaged in the band’s story.

The spectacular encore sequence was a fitting close to the triumphant night. After the powerful “Between Angels and Insects,” Shaddix moved deep into the crowd for “Infest.” The final sequence was a medley of pure sonic chaos, blending snippets of “Blind,” “My Own Summer (Shove It),” “Break Stuff,” and “Chop Suey,” before concluding the entire night with the genre-defining intensity of “Last Resort.” Papa Roach’s performance was a testament to their resilience and their continued role as both rock standard-bearers and necessary advocates for emotional honesty.
