Interview: 5 Questions With Toronto-Based Pop Singer Prescilla Una

Posted on February 11, 2021 by

Prescilla Una, has released the latest single from her sophomore album, “Enlighten,” it’s called “Better Place Than Heaven.”

“Better Place Than Heaven” is an extremely emotional acoustic track, which is sporadically backed by a bone-chilling piano melody and a haunting vocal performance found within the chorus.

1. What made you want to pursue a life in music?

My passion and love for music came from my battles of my mental illness with depression. Music was literally the only thing that cured me to not commit suicide from my many traumas in life. When I do music, all my problems melt away. It was a healthy dose to a happy life. When I decided to attend University with bursaries and scholarships, I fell hard into depression when I declined Humber and a co-op position in a music studio. As soon as I self tough myself guitar, I was happy. That’s the key to this crazy unpredictable beautiful life. If you can find 1 or 2 things that can make you happy that is self-sufficient, you’re pretty much set for life’s ups and downs when people let you down or take advantage of you.

2. Can you tell us what you’re working on right now that most excites you?

I’m currently working on my concert release for my new triple album ENLIGHTEN with my team. My complete team for my album is –

Drums- Jason Pierce, Marcello Og and Gregory Smith.

Guitar: Bryant Didier, Eric Therrien, Bradley  Heyhoe, Bass: Sean McCarney Dane Wedderburn

Recording Engineer; Sean McCarney, Gordon Davidson assistant Ed, Jeff McCulloch, Hildo Rodrigues

Violin- Greenville Pinto

Keys- Richard Uglow

Sax- Bruce Baker

Mix , remix , & mastering; Sandor Peres, Robert Babicz, Bradley Charles, Jesse Saunders

Song Brasil; Fabio Mandika, Hildo Rodrigues, Coringa, Bruno D’Sousa, Marcelo Batman

My team for the live concert set up is yet to be formed, but Key West Videos is most likely going to be the key team. I’ve known Stuart since the beginning of my career and I enjoy creating with them. We’re aiming for March. Huli, a rapper friend of mine from the USA who sang in CATCH may be in town and participating in my event along with local sikkkkkk sexy dancers 😉 Each person on my team met in a cool way, some on line sure, but others have a cool story that would take up an entire book 😉 I have a few studio and concert options lined up in the GTA but nothing solid as of yet.

3. Who are your biggest influences?

My biggest influences are my family, Alanis Morissette, Lana Del Rey, Trent Reznor, Michael Bernard Beckwith, Gundi, Napoleon Hill, Elon Musk, and other philosophers, spiritual leaders and business leaders. These types of people inspire me because they know how to GET THINGS DONE and have a passion for what they do and do it well, with confidence.

4. What was your favourite live concert and why?

Thus far my fav live concert was Veld, where Deadmau5 was headlining. The lights, dancing was all amazing and well done. I met a disabled quadriplegic whom had the most energy in the crowd. We ended up in the disabled VIP and had the best spot in the outdoor event and not many around leaving lots of space to dance. There, started my serious thought about opening a PSW agency to assist seniors and the disabled more in the community….

5. What would you like to say to your old/new fans?

I’d like to say, we are currently in hard times, something that my generation of Canadians and international people have never seen or experienced . Let my music be your escape, bring you peace and help you. With God and music, you’re never alone. Choose free will and don’t take anything at face value.

“Better Place Than Heaven,” the brand new single by Prescilla Una and it’s accompanying album,
