News: Crumb Announce North American Tour + Share Live Video + New Album ‘Ice Melt’ Out Now

Posted on May 12, 2021 by

Following the recent release of their new album Ice Melt, Crumb returns to announce a Fall North American tour. Beginning October 15th, the band will play 19 shows including stops in Atlanta, Austin, Chicago and Brooklyn before concluding the run in November with a pair of California shows supporting Chicano Batman. Tickets go on sale this Friday, May 14th, at 10AM local time. Purchase them here.

In conjunction with the tour announcement, Crumb is sharing a taste of what fans can expect on the road in the form of a live performance video taped at Ulster Performing Arts Center in Kingston, NY, which is also where they filmed the majority of their “Trophy” video. The session features performances of standout Ice Melt tracks “Up & Down,” “Seeds” and the album’s title track. Watch it here.

Convening in Los Angeles to work with producer Jonathan Rado, Crumb tapped into atmosphere-creation like never before, building experimental compositions that are at turns head-nodding and surrealist, energetic and euphoric. Singer and guitarist Lila Ramani characterizes the album as a “return back down to earth,” a deeply felt examination of “real substances and beings that live on this planet.”

Ice Melt is the follow up to Crumb’s critically-acclaimed debut Jinx, which Pitchfork described as having a “hypnotic quality [that] grows ever more romantic and tense with repeat listens,” and includes the previously-released singles “Trophy,” “Balloon” and “BNR.”
