Today, Ghetts releases a new single featuring Stormzy. “Skengman” finds Ghetts and Stormzy – two of the UK’s most vital artists – trading bars and arrives accompanied by a new video. A moody piece directed by Nathan James Tettey, the video showcases Ghetts, Stormzy and a slew of cameos including Mist, D Double E, Shaybo and Michael Venom navigating the UK after nightfall.

“Skengman” is Ghetts’ first single of 2021 and follows previous singles “IC3” featuring Skepta, which takes its title from the police code used to identify Black suspects in the UK, and “Mozambique,” a certified summer banger featuring Birmingham MC Jaykae and South African musician Moonchild Sanelly. The slew of new singles epitomize BET International Award nominated artist Ghetts’ ongoing artistic evolution and illustrate why he is an enduring artist and becoming recognized as both one of the most influential elder statesman and most vital contemporary voices in grime. The East Londoner combines dizzying, reference-rich rhymes, humor, inventive and intelligent wordplay, all delivered with his trademark crystal clear diction. Ghetts’ last album – 2018’s Ghetto Gospel: The New Testament – displayed a more mature, considered style; the record was widely praised and led to a prestigious Ivor Novello award nomination. “Skengman,” “IC3” and “Mozambique” precede Ghetts’ forthcoming forthcoming album on Warner Records, the details of which will be announced soon.
