Bahamas Brings Industrial Sport & Sound Tour To Vancouver’s Malkin Bowl This Fall

JUNO Award-winning artist Bahamas (the moniker of Canadian musician Afie Jurvanen) has officially announced his return to the stage with the extensive Industrial Sport & Sound Tour. Joined by his full band, Jurvanen will traverse North America this fall in support of his highly acclaimed seventh studio album, My Second Last Album. The tour promises to be a comprehensive showcase of his eclectic catalogue, blending the indie-folk charm of his early work with the soulful swagger and grounded rootsiness that define his current sound.

The tour announcement arrives on the heels of a major career milestone, as My Second Last Album recently earned a JUNO Award nomination for Best Adult Alternative Album of the Year-Jurvanen’s tenth career nomination. The record has drawn widespread praise for its emotional directness and restraint. Exclaim! Magazine described it as “quintessential Bahamas,” noting that the project “feels like a career overview in album form.” The lead single, “The Bridge,” a relaxed, conversational collaboration with M.C. Taylor of Hiss Golden Messenger, has already become a staple on AAA radio, perfectly capturing the album’s themes of family life, domestic routine, and creative freedom.

For music fans in British Columbia, the tour kicks off with a stunning pair of West Coast performances. Bahamas will perform at the Malkin Bowl in Stanley Park in Vancouver on Saturday, September 19, 2026. This highly anticipated open-air show follows the tour’s official launch the night before at the Royal Theatre in Victoria. Surrounded by the towering evergreens of Stanley Park, the Malkin Bowl provides the idyllic, natural backdrop that perfectly complements the warmth and ease of Bahamas’ live shows. It is a rare opportunity to catch an artist of his caliber in one of the city’s most picturesque outdoor venues.

Jurvanen’s path to releasing My Second Last Album was one of self-reflection. Following the straight-ahead country detour of 2023’s Bootcut, which was recorded in Nashville, he initially questioned whether this new collection of loose, indie-pop leaning tracks-recorded in a backyard shed-fit into his career arc. However, after returning to the songs with fresh ears, he realized they captured exactly who he was at that moment: a family man balancing routine with creative impulse. This clarity resulted in one of the most personal and essential releases in the entire Bahamas catalogue.

Known for live performances that leave ample space for humour, emotional range, and spontaneity, Bahamas has cultivated a genuine sense of connection with his audience over the years. With five JUNO wins, a GRAMMY nomination, and over a billion streams worldwide, his status as one of Canada’s premier songwriters is undeniable. This upcoming tour will see him moving fluidly through acoustic-driven folk, country, soul, and indie pop, creating an immersive experience for long-time fans and newcomers alike.

Tickets for the Vancouver ritual at Malkin Bowl, as well as the rest of the tour dates, will be available starting with presales on Wednesday, March 11, at 10:00 am local time. The general public on-sale will officially launch on Friday, March 13, at 10:00 am local time. Given the limited capacity of the Malkin Bowl and the scenic appeal of a late-summer show in Stanley Park, tickets for the September 19 date are expected to be in very high demand.
