Foreigner

THURSDAY, AUGUST 28, 2025

The air was thick with a mix of anticipation and nostalgia as Foreigner brought their historic tour to the Pacific Coliseum for the PNE Summer Night Concerts on August 28, 2025. With a nearly sold-out crowd of loyal fans, the atmosphere was a powerful, celebratory tribute to one of rock’s most enduring catalogs.

Taking the stage to a deafening roar, the band launched immediately into the iconic guitar riff of “Double Vision,” a bold and energetic opening that set the tone for the entire night. The sound was pristine, with every instrument cutting through the venue’s large space. From there, they powered through hits like “Head Games” and the instantly recognizable piano intro to “Cold as Ice,” which had the entire crowd on their feet and singing along.

Lead vocalist Kelly Hansen proved, once again, that he is a true rock and roll powerhouse. His voice, dynamic and powerful, hit every one of Lou Gramm’s signature high notes with ease, a testament to his stage presence and decades of experience. The setlist was a veritable “greatest hits” collection, with “Waiting for a Girl Like You” providing a moment of serene reflection before the band ramped the energy back up with “Dirty White Boy” and “Feels Like the First Time.”

A highlight of the show was the masterful “Keyboard and Drum Solo,” which showcased the incredible individual talents of the band’s musicians. It was a well-deserved moment for the rhythm section to shine, and it built a palpable sense of excitement before the band dove into “Juke Box Hero.” The song was a true show-stopper, featuring guest vocalist Luis Maldonado and a blistering guitar solo that sent shivers down the spine.

The emotional peak of the evening arrived with “I Want to Know What Love Is.” As the band played the first chords, a local high school choir joined them on stage, their voices swelling to fill the cavernous arena. It was a breathtaking, heartfelt moment that created a collective feeling of unity and nostalgia. The night concluded with a fiery, crowd-pleasing performance of “Hot Blooded,” leaving no doubt that Foreigner’s show in Vancouver would be a night to remember. The music, as evidenced by the energy of the crowd, will live on forever.
