Halestorm

With support fromLindsey Stirling

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2025

The Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre transformed into an arena of electric celebration on October 10, 2025, for a powerful co-headlining bill featuring Halestorm and Lindsey Stirling. The pairing of Halestorm’s fierce modern rock with Stirling’s kinetic, genre-bending violin performance provided a dynamic contrast that energized the Vancouver crowd from the moment the lights dropped. The palpable excitement for this unique double-header suggested a night where musical boundaries were not just crossed, but obliterated entirely.

Lindsey Stirling immediately captivated the audience with her high-energy theatrics. Her set, starting with the powerful fusion of “The Arena / Underground” and “The Phoenix,” was a spectacle of movement and sound. Stirling, accompanied by her band, seamlessly wove classical violin technique into electronica, pop, and rock frameworks. Highlights included her signature electronic take on Darude’s “Sandstorm,” the intricate medley of “Blue (Da Ba Dee) / Roundtable Rival / The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” and a unique rock interpretation of Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir.” Her performance was a dizzying display of technical skill, choreography, and showmanship, perfectly setting the stage with its boundless, positive energy.

When Halestorm took the stage, the atmosphere shifted to pure, unadulterated rock aggression. The band launched straight into the powerful salvo of “Fallen Star,” “I Miss the Misery,” and “Love Bites (So Do I).” This intense opening showcased the raw vocal dominance of frontwoman Lzzy Hale and the tight, relentless rhythm section of her bandmates. The crowd immediately matched the band’s intensity, a sea of raised horns and roaring voices that filled the venue.

A special element added to the evening’s charge: it was Lzzy Hale’s birthday. During a brief pause, the audience, many holding up handmade “Happy Birthday” signs, erupted in a spontaneous chorus, acknowledging the rock icon. Hale, visibly touched, responded by dedicating herself even more fiercely to the performance. The band continued to showcase their versatility, with Hale moving to the piano for a stirring solo rendition of “Shiver” before tearing into a powerful solo drum performance from Arejay Hale, proving the raw talent contained within the quartet.

The heart of Halestorm’s set was a masterclass in modern rock anthems. The band powered through hits like “I Am the Fire,” “Back from the Dead,” and the heavy, emotional depths of “Everest.” They also treated the audience to a dramatic, slowed-down version of “Familiar Taste of Poison” before concluding their main set with the massive “I Gave You Everything.” The musicianship was flawless, providing a gritty, powerful foundation for Lzzy Hale’s extraordinary, commanding vocals.

The night culminated in a thrilling encore where the two headlining acts merged for a powerful collaboration. Halestorm welcomed Lindsey Stirling back to the stage for a unique rendition of Stirling’s own hit, “Shatter Me.” This unexpected synergy: Stirling’s soaring violin battling against Hale’s explosive rock energy was a breathtaking capstone to the evening. Following the collaboration, Halestorm closed out the celebration with the beloved anthem “Here’s to Us,” giving the Vancouver crowd a memorable birthday party and a spectacular night of genre-defying music.
