The Offspring w/ Bad Religion

Vancouver’s punk rock faithful filled Rogers Arena on Saturday night for a heavy-hitting double bill featuring two of the genre’s most enduring icons. The night served as a major highlight of the Canadian leg of the SUPERCHARGED tour, delivering nearly three hours of high-octane anthems and nostalgia.

Bad Religion proved exactly why they are considered pioneers. Their 19-song set was a relentless display of speed and precision, opening with the grit of “Recipe for Hate.” The band maintained a breakneck pace through classics like “21st Century (Digital Boy)” and “Infected,” with Greg Graffin’s vocals sounding as sharp and authoritative as ever. The set concluded with a powerful rendition of “American Jesus,” leaving the crowd fully primed for the headliners.

The Offspring took the stage to a deafening roar, immediately launching into the iconic opening riff of “Come Out and Play.” Their 21-song setlist was a carefully balanced journey through their massive catalogue, mixing 90s staples with new material from their SUPERCHARGED album.

Key moments from the set included:

The production was top-tier, featuring pyrotechnics, inflatable skeletons, and oversized beach balls that were launched into the pit during the more upbeat tracks. The sound quality at Rogers Arena was excellent, with the live drums and guitar riffs cutting through clearly, even in the upper bowl.

The night ended on an incredible high with a two-song encore. “You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid” saw the entire floor erupt into a massive mosh pit, followed by the definitive anthem “Self Esteem.”

It was a night that celebrated the longevity of California punk. While the choreography was minimal compared to pop spectacles, the raw chemistry between Dexter and Noodles, combined with the sheer volume of hits, made it one of the most memorable rock shows Vancouver has seen in years.
