The biggest band in rock returns to BC Place
The Power Up Tour is AC/DC's globe-spanning celebration of Power Up, the 2020 album that reached number one in 21 countries and marked the band's return after a turbulent stretch of health setbacks and lineup changes. The 2026 North American leg launched at Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium on July 11 and runs through late September, taking in 17 stadiums across the United States and Canada. The Canadian dates also include Edmonton, Montreal and Toronto, but Vancouver's BC Place show is the band's only British Columbia appearance on the run.
The touring lineup is anchored by the two men most associated with the AC/DC sound: guitarist Angus Young, still in his schoolboy uniform and still duck-walking across the stage, and vocalist Brian Johnson, whose voice has defined the band since 1980's Back in Black. They are joined by rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, bassist Chris Chaney and drummer Matt Laug. Opening night in Charlotte kicked off, as AC/DC shows traditionally do, with a blast of "If You Want Blood (You've Got It)," a signal that the band is leaning hard on the catalogue that made it one of the best-selling acts in rock history.
With a capacity above 50,000, BC Place is built for the scale of an AC/DC production: the giant bell of "Hells Bells," the firing cannons of "For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)" and a wall of hits that has anchored the band's live show for decades. Expect a career-spanning set stacked with staples like "Thunderstruck," "Back in Black," "Highway to Hell," "You Shook Me All Night Long" and "T.N.T." The stadium sits in downtown Vancouver at 777 Pacific Boulevard and is easy to reach by SkyTrain, which is the smart way in and out on a big stadium night.
The show lands in the middle of a blockbuster summer for Vancouver's largest room. AC/DC's date comes just weeks before Guns N' Roses play BC Place on August 29 and Foo Fighters arrive on September 20, giving the city a rare run of stadium-sized rock.
