From a viral Tiny Desk to a global tour
If you know CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, there is a good chance it started with a desk. The Buenos Aires duo's October 2024 NPR Tiny Desk concert became a genuine phenomenon — the most-watched Tiny Desk of that year — and turned two longtime fixtures of Argentina's underground into one of the most talked-about live acts in Latin music. The project they built out of that moment, Papota, swept the 2025 Latin Grammys with five wins, including Best Alternative Music Album, Best Alternative Song for "#TETAS" and Best Pop Song for "El Día del Amigo," and later earned the duo their first Grammy, for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album.
Their new album FREE SPIRITS pushes the pair's shape-shifting mix of trap, funk, rock and pop spectacle even further, with a guest list that says plenty about how far they've come: Sting, Jack Black, Anderson .Paak and Fred again.. all appear on the record. The FREE SPIRITS World Tour launched in May with a hometown show at Buenos Aires' Movistar Arena and routes through landmark rooms across the Americas and Europe — Red Rocks, Radio City Music Hall, the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and London's O2 Academy Brixton among them.
Vancouver gets the duo at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, a 2,700-capacity soft-seater that should suit a show built equally on musicianship and mischief.
