Frequently asked questions

How do I track my order?

You will receive an order confirmation email immediately after checkout with your edition number and a link to your certificate of authenticity. Once your print ships (typically 5–10 business days later), you will receive a separate email with a carrier tracking number. If you haven't seen either email after 24 hours, check your spam folder, then email [email protected] with your order date and the email used at checkout.

What does the edition number mean?

Every photograph on the Site is editioned as a strictly limited run of signed 12×18 inch metallic prints. The edition size varies by collection - your edition number (e.g. “#47”) tells you which print in the run you own, and the total run size is shown on the product page. Edition numbers are assigned in the order paid orders are received. Once the run sells out, the edition is closed permanently. No more prints of that photograph will be produced.

What is a metallic print?

Every print in the shop is a metallic print - the image is infused directly into a sheet of aluminum (no paper, no ink layer on top). The result is a rigid panel with deep blacks, vivid colors, a high-gloss finish that looks lit from within, and durability that paper can’t match: it's scratch-resistant, water-resistant, UV-resistant, and won't fade for decades under normal indoor light. Each print arrives ready to hang with a metal hanger pre-attached on the back, so you can put it on the wall straight out of the box, or take it to any framer for a traditional treatment.

Can I order a different size?

Standard prints ship at 12×18 inches, the format the work is designed around. For custom sizing (larger or framed), email [email protected] with the photo title and your shipping destination. We will quote you and reserve an edition number off the same numbered run.

How long does shipping take?

Production takes 5–10 business days after your order is placed. Shipping transit is on top of that and depends on your destination:
  • Within Canada: typically 2–7 business days after dispatch.
  • To the United States: typically 5–10 business days.
  • International: typically 10–21 business days, plus possible customs delays.

What about customs duties and taxes?

For orders within Canada, applicable GST/HST/PST is added at checkout. For international orders, any import duties and taxes are the responsibility of the recipient and are not included in our prices or shipping. Customs can occasionally delay delivery.

My print arrived damaged. What do I do?

Email [email protected] within 7 days of delivery with: (1) your order number, (2) photos showing the damage to the print, and (3) photos showing the outer packaging. We will reprint and reship the same edition number at no cost, or refund you, at our discretion. See the Terms of Service for the full damage and defect policy.

Can I return a print I just changed my mind about?

Because every print is a hand-numbered, made-to-order edition, all sales are final except in the cases of damage in transit, manufacturing defect, or loss in transit. Please double-check your size and shipping address at checkout. If you're unsure about which size suits the space you want to hang it in, email us before ordering and we'll talk you through it.

How should I care for my print?

Metallic prints are far more forgiving than paper. The basics:
  • Wipe gently with a soft microfibre cloth. Dust comes off easily. For fingerprints or smudges, a slightly damp cloth (water only) is fine.
  • No glass cleaner, no ammonia, no abrasive pads. The high-gloss surface is durable but solvent-based cleaners can damage the print over time.
  • Hang anywhere indoors. Metallic prints are scratch-resistant, water-resistant, and UV-stable enough for bright rooms - including bathrooms and kitchens, which kills paper prints. Direct prolonged sunlight is still best avoided for the longest possible life.
  • Ready to hang out of the box. Every print ships with a metal hanger pre-attached to the back of the aluminum panel, so it goes straight onto a single nail or screw in the wall. Prefer a traditional look? Any framer can frame the panel directly. Most owners hang it bare for the floating, monolithic look.
  • Keep your Certificate of Authenticity in a safe place - it documents the edition number, photo, and date, and travels with the print if you ever sell or pass it on.

Are prints signed?

Yes. Every print is signed by Michael Caswell with the edition number written on a small dedicated sign-and-number panel on the back of the metallic print, alongside the Certificate of Authenticity that ships with it.

Can I commission a print of a show I attended?

If you were at a show I covered and remember a moment, email me - if I have the frame in the archive and the rights situation allows, I can potentially make it available as a numbered edition. Email [email protected].

Do you offer licensing for commercial or editorial use?

Yes - image licensing is handled separately from print sales. For editorial, commercial, advertising, merchandise, music-video, or documentary use, email [email protected]. Purchasing a print does not include any reproduction or commercial-use rights to the underlying photograph.
